B-B-B-Bees

Look at these large bees! I think they are so interesting. They swarm my chives every year. This is not my finger next to them by the way. I had Tirz do it!! She didn't mind. She "pets" them. Yikes and yee-haw!
Has anyone ever heard of a bee kite? Or "made" one?

Cool photos Lis. Those bees are enormous!!! I've never heard of anyone ever "petting" a bee before... forget about it! ( Did ya pick up on my New York mob boss tone? ) : )
You know, I check your blog nearly every day, in hopes that you will have posted something. And FINALLY, here you are. I just love to be able to have this contact with some of my old friends.
I'm so looking forward to seeing you and your family over this weekend!

Cool! I don't really like the idea of "petting" a bee, though.

Thanks for posting.

Hey! I thought I was the only one to pet bees! I did it in Hawaii when I was a kid. We'd watch them go into a big flower, then we'd pinch the ends of the flower for several minutes...then the bees were mellowed out somehow (drunk on nectar?) and we'd stroke them on our fingers!

Isn't a bee kite the same thing as a fly kite where you slip dental floss in a slip not around a bug and then WHEEEEE~!

Yes, Yes! Elicia that is a bee kite! Our big bees have gone to some place else and I missed the opportunity for a bee kite. I've see a few yellow jackets and a wasp came in the house the other day, but they do not make a good bee kite. They like to dive bomb ya.

ooooh.

I'm breaking out in hives over this.

Big shivers here.

You know me and bees. You couldn't PAY me to pose with my finger by a bee like Tirz did. Nuh-uh, baby. Not to mention PETTING one! No wonder Kei didn't mention this post of yours!!

Those bees are huge!...kinda creepy! I squished a mosquito the other day that was at least 2 1/2 inches (maybe 3 but I don't want to exaggerate) long. It was full of black eggs...ewwww! (No it was not a mosquito eater."
Since God won't be flooding the earth again, maybe the end will come by GIANT killer bugs! You may be able to pet them now, but watch out.
Pretty pictures you captured though. :)

2 1/2 inch long mosquito! AAAKKKK!
I'll keep my eye out for any more giant insects; you may have something there. Maybe you should write an "end time" novel.

Lis I am the bee killer in my family they all run scared of them and I'm the one allergic to the darn things. No I dont think I wanna bee kite either. You an Elisia can keep your bee petting to your selves!!!

Dang, they must have overheard you :-)

Oh well, you can try another time. Good idea avoiding those wasps. I'll tell you a wasp story sometime...
