Summer has been very busy and not left much time for posting. So many activities. So many projects. So many places to go! But summer is ending and school is starting next week for us. This year hold a few changes for us. We have signed up with "Parent Partnership" (sometimes called Home Link). It means we have registered our children in a near by school district. I still homeschool the kids but big daddy government now gets to look over my shoulder. I meet with a certified teach twice a month to go over how we are doing. The benefit to me is they will reimburse the cost our curriculum and other school need that are covered in this program. The school district is small and many of the people involved are Christians. This will allow us to do some things we have not had the money for. It will also allow us to get the books I have wanted and our library does not have. I'll just need to cover the cost of the bookshelves.

Lis, this is our fourth year using a Parent Partnership Program and it has worked really well for us. Don't feel like the gov. is looking over your shoulder too much. You are still fully in control. I think we are wise and shrewd to make use of public monies to help teach our children. My kids have no idea we aren't rich, because the school dist. pays for all the extras! I never had private music lessons at age 7!!! Let me know if you have any questions about it all. Best wishes for a great new year of school!

Lis,
Hello! Like your new setup here. I'll be interested to hear of your experience. I've read about some negative experiences with this on other blogs and also my sister-in-law is doing something similar in Pennsylvania.
Blessings.
Hey Lisa!!
I have been doing a parent partnership with Tawni for 2 years and we love it!! I feel like I am in complete control..dont like a teacher or subject..we move on, no big deal. I also love the fact that I can attend her classes with her...I am learning sewing, Spanish and ASL (sign language)This years money is going to help pay for her soccer and riding lessons. Plus it gives her a place to socialize...since I am the under-acheiver of the JC group.
